The Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul, Turkey was home to Sultans of the Ottoman Empire and was built between the years 1843 and 1856. The baroque style palace exterior is made from white sandstone. Here is a view of the palace taken while my husband and I were on a Bosphorus cruise back in 2006.
It is the largest palace in Turkey and the land the palace has been built on was reclaimed from the Bosphorus. Here are more shots taken on a tour of the palace.
