Our traditional Pakistani breakfast consists of puri (bread made of flour and fried) with cholay (spicy chickpeas curry), aloo bhaji (pickled potatoes) and halwa (sweet made of semolina). Now anyone would think that we would have the chickpeas and potatoes with the bread and after that we would eat the sweet.
But here’s the thing; we eat them all together. We like to combine the savoury with the sweet and eat with the bread. It is so delicious but oh so heavy. Once finished there’s only one thing you feel like doing; taking a nap!
