My 4 year old son loves to draw and paint. I gave him a large piece of cardboard to paint and this is what he came up with. He called it a monster but it looks something like a crocodile (with a scary red eye and sharp teeth). I love his confidence with a marker or paint brush in his hand and his dark solid lines. He knows exactly what he wants to make and how to make it. For me it’s a work of art.

Love it!
Thanks!
It is priceless art for sure! hold on to these to share later 🙂
Yes Andy going to hold on to as much as I can (there’s so much). He fills books upon books with his drawing and I’m afraid I can’t keep everything, especially now that we’re moving.
mmm you’ll find a way I’m sure 🙂
It’s a real work of art from a 4 year old 🙂
Thank you, I’m so proud of him!
We still have artwork from when our two girls were little. It’s so much fun to look back at it, especially as one is now halfway through art school. 🙂

Hi Janet, That is so special! Your daughter will be able to see how her art evolved over the years. Wonderful.
My children’s art (not all but some) is framed and hangs in my house.. Best kind of art !
Yes it sure is. I think I should do that too. It would be great because then I would have 3 generations of artwork, my mother’s, mine and then my son’s.
Love children’s artwork….so uninhibited, carefree and expressive. We have a hallway dedicated to children’s artwork!
Yes you’re so right. I love the confidence with which my son draws. Where is this wonderful hallway?

I’m sure we have a couple of books very similar….after twenty years, or so, they MUST be valuable to someone 🙂
Keep them handy, will be useful when your children become famous 😉

He sure has potential! All I can draw even as an adult are stick people, stick trees, stick animals … you get the picture. Art by our children make for great memories; thanks for sharing the love and your son rocks! 🙂
Yes, I’m not great at drawing either, when I draw it’s usually hesitant lines that need to be erased again and again. When my son draws it’s with one confident sweep of the marker (which he still doesn’t hold properly or in the adult way).
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. 🙂
