Friday Fictioneers: Moon Man

lengai_summit_from_crater-danny-bowmanMark was fed up of his life here on earth. He signed up for a program that was recruiting young men and women to spend the rest of their lives on the moon on a science mission. He was scoffed at and called names like “Moon Man” and “Space Monkey” but he didn’t care.

Some months and tests later he was selected to go on the mission. He gave all the people who had jeered him a little replica of an astronaut with “Space Man” written on the suit.

He wanted them to remember him when for a change he looked down on them.

  1. Oh I’m sure they will!!

A suggestion, if I may: Use commas in this phrase: “He wanted them to remember him when [comma] for a change [comma] he looked down on them.”

  2. Well done. And my musical memory banks has been hearing “Ground Control to Major Tom” and “I think it’s gonna be a long, long time!”

BTW, the picture of your son (I assume) is wonderful!

    Regards,

    Jim
