Mr Safdar won the election from his constituency and became a member of parliament of the government in power.
Instead of using his position to alleviate the suffering of the poor masses, he decided to make hay while the sun shone. He would pocket commissions from deals that went to the government for approval and was particularly satisfied with the deal to import luxury BMWs into the country.
A few months later as he returned to his palatial home, his car was hit by a speeding car head on. He was killed on the spot. The driver of the BMW was taken into custody.

Oy.. the irony!
Too bad it doesn’t happen in real life.
Yeah, true that! too many corrupt people get away with stuff and innocent suffer for it.
ah the irony. great to see justice (even if it’s only in fiction) 🙂
Justice prevails…for now…
Well there was some justice in it. 🙂 Nice one.
You gotta love irony!
Thanks for the visit!
I think Mr. Karma was driving.
janet
I think so too. I guess he’s everywhere.
Thanks for reading.
Beautifully written! Making hay…importing BMWs…and having one cause his demise. Brilliant!
Thank you so much!
Dear Zainab,
A typical case of “you reap what you sow.” Loved your use of the prompt. Good story.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thank you Rochelle!
Good story and well written. We live in India and that scenario somehow sounds familiar. Reminds me of the old saying, “What goes around, comes around.”
We would have a lot less corruption if this happened in real life.
Thanks for the visit!
Oh the delicious irony. Well told!
Thanks for the visit!
God certainly moves in mysterious ways. Bravo.
Thank you for reading!
LOVED your use of the metaphor about making hay while the sun shone, and then the poetic justice at the end. Don’t you sometimes wish the world was run by writers — we see things much clearer than most.
Yes you’re quite right, the world would be a better place!
“Making hay” – a clever use of the prompt. Corruption is everywhere.
Thanks for the visit.
I believe they get what they deserve, anyway. Many people we think get away with things are miserable in other ways.
True that.
Thanks for dropping by.
I love a good karmic twist! Coming from a country run by what may well be corruption personified into a bunch of politicians, this was especially satisfying.
Yes, wish it would happen this way, quick cure for corruption!
Thanks for the visit.
Karma at its best, with a twinge of irony! Loved it, Zainab 🙂
Thank you so much!
Loved that you used that proverb Zainab – a clever take on the prompt 🙂
Thank you so much for taking time to comment.
🙂
A fitting end to an irresponsible leader.
Kind regards,
MG
A leader is too good a word for him!
Thanks for the visit.
Very well done. Except most BMW drivers wouldn’t stop.
Maybe he was a bit dazed.
Thanks for the visit!
So real!
Good!
