Children have some odd habits that thankfully change with time. Other habits are very endearing and are missed when they grow out of them.
When they’re teething they want to put everything in their mouths. Some grow out of it when their teeth appear and some carry that habit for a few years. I remember when my son was teething he wanted to bite everything including me. I used to have bruises on my arms and little teeth marks. Thankfully he grew out of that habit soon. Some children suck their toes and although mine did give it a go a few times he never made a habit out of it. My son likes to stroke the inner part of my arm. Sometimes it becomes really annoying. But the really odd thing is that I used to do that with my mom when I was a child. He also moves a lot while he sleeps and ends up with his feet on his pillow.
Boys have some really gross habits as well. The other day I watched as my son took out a booger and ate it. I’m still traumatized about it and hopefully that was just a one-off thing. He likes to talk when he’s in the toilet. Actually he likes to talk all the time but why must you do a running commentary when in the toilet?
My son also has a few odd habits that I find very endearing. When he’s eating, after a while he’ll ask “Am I full?” I think he’s not so sure himself and wants someone else to confirm. When he’s angry he thinks the worst thing to say to me is “You’re not cute, you’re not pretty!” Actually even though I hate to admit it, he looks quite cute when he’s angry. Another habit that I love is that while he’s playing or whatever it is that he’s doing he’ll come up to me and want to hug and kiss me. Even if he’s in the park or the supermarket. I hope he doesn’t grow out of that one too soon!

How cute 🙂
I remember when my little brother used to bite my neck before sleeping. He would not sleep unless one of us had him on his shoulder. He still likes to bite us now, he’s almost nine. Gross, I know, still endearing.
Ouch that must hurt, children can be odd little creatures.
It hurts! But it’s also very funny 🙂
🙂

Your son sounds adorable. Enjoy while you can. With no time they become strapping lads… mine did. Yesterday they were six and three and one. Now they are in their thirties. Where did the intervening years go???
Sometimes I really can’t wait for that time when he’ll be all grown up (especially in the middle of a tantrum!) But you’re right I’ll probably even miss his tantrums later.
Thanks for your kind words.
